Missing savings spark bank rush
BUCHAREST (Romania) - ABOUT 200 people rushed to a Dutch-owned bank in central Romania on Thursday after more than 1 million euros (S$1.7 million) was reported missing from accounts there. Police spokesman Liviu Nagy said bank employees are suspected of taking money from at least 20 savings accounts at a branch of Credit Europe Bank in Brasov city without authorization.
